how do animals predict earthquakesHow do animals predict earthquakes?

Before natural disasters animals have been reported as showing signs of distress and trying to flee the area. Does science have an answer for this please?
Seismic Anomalous Animal Behavior, of SAAB, has been know about for a long time. It was noticed first in China i believe. Chickens refuse to lay eggs, horses and cattle get skittish, snakes crawl out in the winter in freeze, some silkworms and fish line up. scientist think it has to do with electromagnetic waves thathow do animals predict earthquakes are release before a quake. quartz has electromagnetic properties, so maybe that has something to do with it. :)
In truth, they don't "predict" an earthquake. They "alert" us that one has begun. There are a number of senses that many animals have that are more acute than those of humans. They notice signs of earthquakes earlier than we do, giving rise to the "animals know before they happen" belief. They don't know "before". They knohow do animals predict earthquakesw "when" an earthquake is happening, usually before we do. Animals don't always give warnings though, which may be because of the way various earthquakes occur. Some may build slowly over minutes while others go from stop to start nearly instantaneously.
some possibilites are

1. hearing the vibrations/infrasound
2. detecting electromagnetic waves released by the aerthquake
3. smelling chemicals released by the earthquake
6th sense
