imagine a world without religionDo you think that John Lennon was a sane man to ask us to imagine a world without Religion?

It's either that or he's a visionary when he wrote:

'Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no Religion too'

Whether one agrees with that or not, history has shown us that Religion (mostly modern) has been one of the more profound schisms and dividers of humankind.
Sane and compassionate.
We are one race. 'The human race' we all have our struggles. The sooner we stop labelling and compartmentalising people, which causes segregation and separation, the sooner we can all pull together and start to make the world a better place.
John, we miss you.
I think he was pretty sane, and intelligent, too.
so sane it makes me sad.

he's missed.
Why not...after all, religion asks us to imagine a world with a loving God in it. Not much difference, if you ask me - both are asking you to imagine something impossible.
Brilliant idea! Too bad it's unattainable.
I agree wholeheartedly with him. I would never take religion away from anyone, as it makes so maimagine a world without religionny people happy, but just imagien. Had religion never existed, there would be no Crusades, no Spanish Inquisition, no Hell, no Salem Witch Trials, no Holocaust. The world would be a much better place as a whole without religion. However, religion has saved some individuals and given them life, whether by helping them see right and wrong or simply by helping them be content.
His message was just too far ahead of his time. Even too far ahead for 2010, not many people listened it seems like.
He was a child.
Do I think he was a sane man? One of the sanest. Religion has done nothing for humanity except divide us and cause hatred.
Nope, most wars have been political, not religious. Those at the top merely USE religion as a tool to motivate those at the bottom to do their dirty work. It's ALWAYS been about grabbing land, power, money, resources, and controlling the population in order to do that. And religion is the means to control the population.

That's all it's ever been. Totally a politicimagine a world without religional tool.
NO!!!!Not a world without religion, we are already overpopulated enough, how could we live if theres no religions for people to die for? I mean, the Inquisition, The Christian crusades, the Jihad, Scientologists suspiciously dying, the Northren Ireland religious war, etc.

We would have to live like Japaneses, in capsule hotels.

When God is in every one there will be no more religions.

In the beginning man lived with God, but sinned, died and separated from God.

Religions seek to connect the man to God.

But there are many enemies.

So there are wars in the name of religion.

But in Christ we have already been reconnected to God!

And you've only believe in it!
A total game of tic tac toe. Got Time to waste? Respectfully Observing Benefits Everyone Reasoning Time. Life's Essence One Nature. Truth Objectively Diligently Disseminated!
I think he was working for the anti-christ ...
